As important as the butlers or hotel butlers and other service staff is the back-stage organization and logistics behind these key players. International Butlers assists you in making all elements in the organisation match to facilitate the top-level service as required.

Management, IT, F&B and logistics are all equally important to the whole process. With over fifteen year of experience in management and organization and our worldwide expertise we can advise you on the most efficient processes, organization and additional requirements.

We will work together with you to create a unique environment and with this to achieve the ultimate personal luxury service level, whether private or corporate oriented. Training can be, but not necssarily is, part of this process.

In-house Training

For corporate clients and private families, we have customized training courses and workshops in order to meet specific needs. The advantiage of of our in-house training is that relate all we do directly to the organisation.

We typically take self-awareness and presentation as a starting point to boost self-confidence and establish dedication, courtesy and respect. From here, we work on important practical skills, like executing events, shoe polishing, setting tables, etc.

Private households, hotels, Resorts, Spa's, cruise ships, estates, private yachts and any company or department dealing with guests and customers could benefit from our programs. We not only focus on the butlers, but work with all service staff. We typically work on a long term basis to coach your organisation and staff for a longer period in order to make sure they are on the right track.

All our programs are based on the four level structure: personal coaching, professional performance, practical skills and a supportive level.

5 to 10 days hospitality service training

In either a 5 or 10 day program we put the staff through an intensive and challenging practical training. We apply the four level structure and in cooperation with the client we select the applicable modules to match the requirements. As we work with several affiliates, where required we will call in an expert to focus on one of the specific modules.

Preceding to the training we will assess the current service level and incorporate possible areas of improvement in the curriculum.

Following the training there are several options to keep track of the performance of the participants through an intensive coaching program.

Curriculum (selection)

The curriculum will be tailor made to your specifications based upon your specific situation. Here we only give you an idea of what can be included in the program.

Personal level

  • Butler traits and self management.
    • The right mindset and attire.
  • Body language and communication.
    • How to 'read' a person without asking questions, creating that comfortable environment.

Professional level

  • Protocol & etiquette and modern manners.
    • The modern manners currently applicable in the luxury world; addressing persons of different cultures and titled persons, acquiring social confidence, social correspondence and good manners.
  • Day-to-day butling.
    • Valet skills, personal standards, what does 'service' mean, dress codes, maintaining inventories and packing suitcases.
  • Receiving guests and guests leaving.
    • A warm welcome to the guests, preparations, checking-in and checking-out, follow-up, packing suitcases.
  • Social Graces and Life of the Luxury
    • Personal presentation, 32 butler traits, butler language, correct form of address, top luxury brands, social correspondence.

Practical level

  • Table- and event management.
    • Theory and practice for running a perfect event with confidence and style; setting and serving meals, styles of service, table manners.
  • Food & beverage.
    • Theory and practice to balance food and wine and to cook a simple but exquisite meal.
  • Security.
    • Calamity management, safety and security of the property and the guests, complaint handling.
  • Event Management and Table Management
    • organizing events, organizing tickets to events, spa, sports, knowledge on travelling, wine & champagne, balancing food and wine.


Training methods include: video presentations, instruction DVD´s, assignments, role play and lectures.

Students will get a handout with the most important information on the course, schedules and self-training assignments.

Special: Private Yacht training

For captains and crew of private yacht we offer special hospitality courses, preferably on the yacht. itself. This allows both parties to tailor make the training to the specific requirements.
